  7. By using the following Windows 3.1 Driver Library
  8. (the "Software"), you are hereby agreeing to the

  13. INSTALLING A PRINTER DRIVER
  14. ---------------------------------
  15. 1.  In the Main group, choose the Control Panel icon.
  16.  
  17. 2.  In Control Panel, choose the Printers icon.
  18.  
  19.     The Printers dialog box appears. If you have never
  20.     installed a printer, the dialog box expands to
  21.     display a list of printers available in the Windows
  22.     version 3.1 package, and the Add button is
  23.     unavailable. Go to step 4.
  24.  
  25. 3.  Choose the Add button.
  26.  
  27.     The dialog box expands to display the List Of
  28.     Printers.
  29.  
  30. 4.  In the List Of Printers box, select Install
  31.     Unlisted or Updated Printer.
  32.  
  33. 5.  Choose the Install button.
  34.  
  35.     A dialog box appears instructing you to insert the
  36.     disk that has the printer-driver file on it.
  37.  
  38. 6.  Insert the Tandy Printer Drivers for Windows
  39.     diskette, or type the full path name of the driver.
  40.     Then choose the OK button.
  41.  
  42.     Another dialog box appears, listing several
  43.     printers.
  44.  
  45. 7.  In the List Of Printers box, select the printer you
  46.     want.
  47.  
  48. 8.  Choose the OK button.
  49.  
  50.     The Printers dialog box appears. Your printer is
  51.     now listed in the Installed Printers list.
  52.  
  53. 9.  Choose the Close button.
  54.  
  55. 10. For instructions on how to configure your
  56.     printer, see Chapter 5, "Control Panel," in the
  57.     "Microsoft Windows User's Guide."

  97. Notes:
  98. 1.  At least three paper sources are provided: Tractor,
  99.     Manual, and Lower Tray.
  100.  
  101.     Use Tractor with fanfold paper. The paper loading
  102.     feature of the printer creates a top margin.
  103.  
  104.     Use Manual when you are using the single sheet
  105.     paper loading method. The paper loading feature of
  106.     the printer creates a top and a bottom margin.
  107.  
  108.     Lower Tray does not allocate a top or bottom margin
  109.     and can be used in two ways:
  110.  
  111.     1)when you are manually adjusting the top of form
  112.     so no top margin is needed,
  113.  
  114.     2)when you are using the pull tractor method (not
  115.     available on all printers). See your printer's
  116.     user's guide for instructions on using the pull
  117.     tractor method.
  118.  
  119. 2.  The printer supports color printing. If you are
  120.     using the standard black ribbon, run Windows
  121.     Control Panel Printer Setup Options to deselect the
  122.     color option.
  123.  
  124. 3.  The printer driver supports a different emulation
  125.     than the factory default emulation. The emulation
  126.     you must use is shown in brackets next to the
  127.     printer's name. See your printer's user's guide for
  128.     instructions on changing the printer's emulation.
  129.  
  130. 4.  The printer supports a cut sheet feeder to
  131.     automatically load single sheets of paper. See your
  132.     printer's user's guide and cut sheet feeder's
  133.     user's guide for installation instructions.
  134.  
  135.     To enable the printer driver to use the sheet
  136.     feeder, run Windows Control Panel Printer Setup to
  137.     select the Auto Sheet Feeder paper source.
  138.  
  139. 5.  Three paper sources are provided: Manual, Upper
  140.     Tray, and Lower Tray. The sheet feeder provided
  141.     with the printer can be used with the Manual or
  142.     Upper Tray paper sources. An optional second sheet
  143.     feeder is available  to use as the Lower Tray paper
  144.     source.

  146. 6.  The printer supports the PostScript command set
  147.     with the optional PDL Cartridge and 1 MB of
  148.     additional memory. See your printer's user's guide
  149.     for details.

  151. 7.  The printer supports the PostScript command set
  152.     with the optional PDL Cartridge and 2 MB of
  153.     additional memory. See your printer's user's guide
  154.     for details.
  155.  
  156. 8.  The printer's front panel controls the selection of
  157.     the paper source and overrides the printer driver's
  158.     selection. The printer driver selection has no
  159.     effect.
